On Monday we had a very special visitor and a very welcomed one at that. We had the privilege of a Master to come train at East London. Master Bratchie was in London for a couple of days, so he’d come down and give East London a good physical work out. I believe everyone enjoyed the techniques we was taught. We started of with a good warm up and a quick stretch. After that there was a lot of up and down the floor hands and kicks. With senior belts having techniques added on the previous ones, there was a lot of arial kicking too. Finally finished off the class with some one on one close combat fighting. I think everyone will now know how to do a strong inside/outside block after Monday’s class. I’d like to thank Master Bratchie for taking his time to teach us.

Also a reminder that we shall be starting classes this Monday 11th January 2010. If anyone is available Saturday morning for a nice 2 mile run or cycle then please give me a shout.

Wishing everybody at the East-London TSD club a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2009 was a very good year for us, not only has the club matured in age, it has developed into a tight family. We have had another black belt join the ranks this year too, and many good students moving on to the next level.

So for the new year and the 7 years we have been running we welcome the new year with hard work and dedication. And with this push ourseleves toachieve our goals.

Pre-test will be on Thursday 24th September 2009.

The next Gup grading will be held at Robert Clack Leisure Centre on Saturday 3rd October 2009. Warm up class will commence at 10am with the grading starting at 11am sharp!

Students eligible for grading, please ensure your memberships are valid for this event. EXPIRED OR NO MEMBERSHIP = NO GRADING.

Congratulations to all the people at East London TSD, many of the students that had competed did very well! If you received a medal you automatically qualify for the World Championships next year.

Although we were low in numbers last night (due to holidays) our training session had a slight difference, we had a visitor from Holland. Tony and his family popped in to visit and trained with the East London club. He normally trains in Chiban TSD, under the instructions of Mr. Babak Javid.

As the Europeans are only just a few weeks away,  it was a great opportunity for Tony & the East London students to interact with each other. This is another proof our art is a true World Organisation.

Everyone at the club wishes Tony and his family all the best in this year’s European Championships.

There will be no class Sunday 6th September. There will be a Ki Gong Clinic with Grandmaster Shin instead at the Huntingdon Leisure Centre from 10am-2pm. National Instructors class on Sunday 4th October will continue as usual.
